The instructor is to make use of any and all available resources, methods, techniques and strategies, to ensure student success. The candidate is expected to work collaboratively with colleagues to create a learning environment which is pedagogically sound, technically supported and innovative in nature. We are currently building our talent pool for potential Online Asynchronous (i.e. Student Self-paced) opportunities during the 2024-2025 Academic Year. These courses are held within our Learner Management System, fully online, and do not have any scheduled facilitation components to them. The purpose of this Broadcast Program that will provide industry partners with a fast track for students to enter the workforce within the Broadcast industry.Courses in this program include:MMDA 001 Video Systems and Standards and InstrumentationMMDA 002 Video Imaging Recording and PlayoutMMDA 003 Entertainment AutomationMMDA 004 Acoustics and Audio SystemsNote: Courses are not guaranteed; successful candidates will only be contacted if a teaching opportunity becomes available.During the engagement, instructors are responsible for:Prepare and present lessons, lectures, assignments, quizzes, exams, lab activities and lab demonstrations for learners if applicable given the course outlineMaintain records for the purposes of grading, assessing professionalism and tracking attendanceManage the classroom or lab to ensure a positive learning environmentShow personal interest in the learner and create a climate conducive to optimal learningProvide on-going support, guidance and advice to studentsAssist in the maintenance of curriculum as needed to maintain up-to date and relevant learningParticipate in curriculum/program review as neededAttend all SAIT training as requiredAchievement of School initiatives and ObjectivesBe an active and engaged member of the SchoolAdhere to all safety legislation, guidelines and safety standards as requiredMaintain contact with relevant industry sectorsAll other duties as required for the positionQualificationsRequired:3-5 years related experience in the Broadcast Technology industry3-5 years of experience instructing and building curriculum within a technical college/post-secondary institutionWorking knowledge and hands on experience with new up and coming Broadcast technologiesPrevious post-secondary education in a related field, or industry trainingExperience and fluency with Office 365 (MS Word, Outlook and PowerPoint)Experience with videoconferencing technology (MS Teams, WebX, Skype or Zoom)Fluent in English reading and vocabularyComfortable speaking to the publicPositive & respectful attitudeAbility to read, interpret and deliver specific curriculumExcellent communication skillsAbility to organize and present written informationDesired:Experience with a Learning Management System (Brightspace or Moodle is an asset)Training and knowledge of adult learning fundamentalsFormal training or education in facilitation or teachingFormal training in online technologiesJob Location: Calgary, ABJob classification: Adjunct Instructor# of positions: MultiplePosting closing date: Open until suitable candidates are foundPosition end date: August 31, 2025Apply for this job

The Role

Qualifications
    • Required:

    • 3-5 years related experience in the Broadcast Technology industry
    • 3-5 years of experience instructing and building curriculum within a technical college/post-secondary institution
    • Working knowledge and hands on experience with new up and coming Broadcast technologies
    • Previous post-secondary education in a related field, or industry training
    • Experience and fluency with Office 365 (MS Word, Outlook and PowerPoint)
    • Experience with videoconferencing technology (MS Teams, WebX, Skype or Zoom)
    • Fluent in English reading and vocabulary
    • Comfortable speaking to the public
    • Positive & respectful attitude
    • Ability to read, interpret and deliver specific curriculum
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Ability to organize and present written information

    • Desired:
