The School of Health and Life Sciences is looking for self-motivated individual with a great attitude to provide support for the school’s leadership and faculty.
As the successful candidate, you will be confident in working independently and interacting with staff, students and other stakeholders. You will exercise good judgment, have the ability to adapt to change and be skilled in multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment. Strong time-management skills and an aptitude for flexibility and life-long learning will be necessary; as will, excellent communication and leadership and interpersonal abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinates new or existing program accreditation activities to ensure compliance with accrediting and regulatory bodies for SHLS programs.
- Assists with accreditation planning and coordination of on-site/off-site accreditation reviews (typically a 6-year cycle).
- Manages the SHLS Program Administrative Team Lead position, which includes HR decisions and coaching to the Team lead.
- Coordinates projects, as required or assigned, including collecting data & analysis, developing, and maintaining documentation, and final reporting to appropriate audiences.
- Liaises with departments at NAIT and external partners (NAIT Occupational Health and Safety, Office of the Registrar, Continuing Education, Student Services, Academic Advising, Recruitment, Marketing, HSPnet, Comptracker, Alberta Health Services, Covenant, Community, Private Clinics, etc.).
- Develops processes and standardizes communication pathways.
- Coordinates and tracks patient engagement and orientation activities as required in the program accreditation process
- Assists the Associate Dean Industry Engagement with the administrative management of the WIL Office.
- Assist programs regarding policies and procedures governing the students clinical training (common forms, SHLS guidelines, etc.).
- Manages the implementation and use of HSPnet for the SHLS, including database management and user training.
- Provides one-on-one consultation with WIL students as required and makes appropriate referrals as necessary.
- Assists the Associate Dean Academic, and the Associate Dean Industry Engagement with implementing and overseeing school level academic processes/procedures, such as annual reviews, admissions, data collection and analysis.
- Leads a collaborative case management approach to support students requiring complex assistance with academic progression; advocate, collaborate and liaise with key stakeholders and NAIT services to provide support and/or decision recommendations regarding exam deferrals, program and/or course withdrawals, academic warning, at risk, and academic probation.
Qualifications:
- Related post-secondary undergraduate degree or equivalency
- 5 + years of related experience in post secondary education with a focus on health programming.
- Equivalencies (combination of education and experience) may be considered.
Remuneration: $2,635.92 - $3,492.03 bi-weekly plus a comprehensive benefit package
