The Department of Engineering at Thompson Rivers University is a recent initiative to offer the BEng Software Engineering program.

The department is seeking to hire highly qualified individual for One (01) Tenured Position at the rank of Associate Teaching Professor \ Associate Professor beginning July 1, 2024

Qualifications:

  • The successful candidate must possess a PhD in Computer or Software Engineering or an equivalent discipline from a recognized university, and the candidate’s teaching and research experience must be within the core areas of Computer or Software Engineering.
  • The candidate must have an undergraduate degree in an engineering discipline from a recognized university.
  • Candidate should demonstrate expertise to teach majority of the following courses in the areas of Software Engineering:
    • Realtime System Design
    • Digital Communication
    • Control Systems
    • Digital System Desing (VLSI)
    • Safety Critical Systems
    • Computer Architecture

    Preference will be given to candidate who currently have a valid Full Professional Engineer license from any of the professional engineers associations within Canadian jurisdiction. Candidate must report in their CV their current professional engineer license status. However, successful candidate is required to become registered with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of the Province of British Columbia within the first three years of their initial appointment.

    Demonstrated knowledge or familiarity with CEAB (Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board) accreditation process is a valuable asset.
