Background
The Multiple Sclerosis Data Alliance (MSDA ) is a global multi-stakeholder collaboration working to accelerate research insights for innovative care and treatment for people with multiple sclerosis (MS) through better use of real-world data (RWD). We focus on following strategic objectives
  • Raise awareness about the importance of research using real-world MS data
  • Build a multi-stakeholder MS data ecosystem
  • Promote trustworthy and transparent practices in the use of real-world MS data
  • Catalogue existing and emerging MS data sources
  • Support local harmonization efforts by developing and promoting the adoption of an MS specific common data model
  • Build a federated ecosystem that allows local queries of different cohorts and registries, while respecting autonomy and ownership of data sources.
UHasselt coordinates the activities of the MSDA. On behalf of the MSDA consortium, UHasselt is recruiting an MSDA staff member to focus on project management, communication and capacity building
Job content
As a staff member you give substantive advice to the policymakers within the MS Data Alliance (MDSA). You concretize policy decisions and help ensure that assignments, files, processes and projects are realized. 
Your responsibilities are as follows:
  • You act as project manager and are responsible for monitoring the progress of the roadmap in the short and long term, including budgets and milestones. You will work with our partners to identify and explore relevant funding opportunities.
  • You will provide support in the writing and submission of grant applications, the substantive and practical organization of partner meetings and stakeholder events.
  • Together with the MSDA Secretariat, you are responsible for the realization of the communication strategy with the aim of engaging representatives of the MSDA stakeholders. You manage the content of the website, newsletters and social media channels.
  • You will help maintain and grow the MSDA partner network and detect new opportunities within the MS data ecosystem.
 
Profile
  • You have a master's degree.
  • You have strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Relevant experience through dissertation, internship and/or work (and being able to demonstrate this) is an asset.
  • Interest and/or experience in MS and/or other neurodegenerative or chronic conditions is a plus.
  • You are passionate to contribute to our mission to transform the healthcare management of people with MS through better use of data, and you have a strong interest in working in an interdisciplinary environment. MSDA combines experts in data science, IT development, epidemiology and statistics with experts in MS research, regulatory decision making and patient engagement.
  • You have excellent networking and communication skills
  • You have an independent and practical personality. You are able to take initiative and have proven to do so in the past. You are able to work autonomously while keeping the team objectives in mind.
  • You proactively monitor the progress of your assigned tasks and responsibilities.
  • You have a critical-analytical judgment and show empathy for the interests of various stakeholders.
  • You are willing to travel internationally. We expect you to travel to different regions of the world on average at least once a month (average duration per visit is 2-5 days each time).
Offer
You will be appointed as Administrative and Technical Staff and paid by class 5 (degree 7) .
We offer you a fixed-term contract of one year, which can be extended in case of a positive evaluation. Selection procedure
You can only apply online up to and including 10 January 2022.
The selection procedure consists of a preselection based on application file, an introductory interview, a in-depth interview (with assignment) and an assessment center. If required, a selection exam can be held after preselection.
