OFFER DESCRIPTION

Initially, the candidate will conduct research on systemic inflammatory diseases with an 'unmet medical need' with a focus on giant cell arteriitis and polymyalgia rheumatica. At the start of the project, this will primarily involve clinical research.

Benefits

We offer a full-time PhD position for 4 years, for which funding is provided.

The candidate will also be asked to prepare an FWO mandate. The candidate will be supported by the team of Prof. Dr. Steven Vanderschueren.


Eligibility criteria

  • A suitable candidate will be a physician, with particular interest in (and preferably some experience with) inflammatory system disease.
  • You are interested in scientific research and motivated to start a PhD.
  • You enjoy working with patients in collaboration with a team of physicians and researchers.
  • You are creative, like to take initiative, you are a team player and can work independently.
  • You are Dutch or speak the Dutch language perfectly.
