Deadline: The position may have been removed or expired!

VIB is widely recognized as an established and world-leading knowledge center in life sciences and biotechnology with an excellent reputation in technology transfer. The unique combination of strategic basic research and a clear focus on innovation & business is one of the major contributors to its success. VIB is highly committed to being the driving force behind the growth of the dynamic life sciences cluster in Flanders.

VIB scientists study the molecular mechanisms that regulate the functions of the human body, plants, and microorganisms. Such mechanistic research leads to innovative insights into the normal and abnormal/pathological life processes, with the potential to use these insights to develop novel therapeutics, diagnostics, agricultural applications, and technologies.

The Computational Omics and Systems Biology (CompOmics) group of Prof. Dr. Lennart Martens, located at the VIB-UGent Center for Medical Biotechnology (CMB) in Ghent, Belgium, focuses on the analysis and integration of high-throughput life sciences data. The neighboring lab of Prof. Dr. Francis Impens investigates host-bacteria interactions by mass spectrometry-based approaches. Together, both groups are looking for an engaged project manager to coordinate a Horizon Europe project with nine partners, focused on the development of innovative mRNA vaccines against bacterial pathogens.

Both groups are very internationally oriented and have strong publication and funding track records. The groups offer an open, highly dynamic, and challenging but fun working environment, in which teamwork, initiative, and originality are stimulated and appreciated.
