You will join the team of prof. Tom Schrijvers within the DTAI division of the KU Leuven's Department of Computer Science. The team has a strong track record in programming language research (functional/logic programming, programming language meta-theory, ...) and the development of educational programming platforms (e-systant, eTeacher).


Project

In this project you develop new tools and techniques based on programming language technology to improve computer science education (computational thinking, programming, ...).


Profile

The candidate has a master degree in computer science and ideally also qualifications in computer science education.

Also desired are:


  • a strong academic track record
  • affinity for and background in programming language design and implementation
  • practical programming skills
  • practical educational experience

Offer

We offer a one-year full-time appointment as a PhD candidate. This appointment may be extended to a four-year appointment in order to complete a PhD student. The extension will depend on adequate performance and on the acquisition of funding.
