WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

-    You have a master's degree in (bio-)medical, health sciences or (bio)engineering or bioinformatics.
-    You obtained a PhD with a dissertation in Health/Medical Sciences/(bio)engineering.(obtained max. 6 years ago. This term of 6 years is determined by the date written on the above-mentioned required diploma)
For diplomas obtained outside the European Union, an equivalence certificate from NARIC must be submitted.
-    You have a special interest in human/viral genetics, functional human biology and virology/immunology.
-    You preferably have a background in virology and knowledge of the following techniques: qPCR and droplet digital PCR, next generation sequencing, flow cytometry.
-    You have additional PC/ICT skills: experience with MS Office, Prism, time/project management software and database management.
-    You have knowledge about bioinformatics (languages like R, bash, python) and viral sequence analysis
-    You may have experience in setting up/coordinating clinical studies and you can monitor this independently.
-    You are organized, passionate about scientific research and you can work independently.
-    You speak and write English fluently.

YOUR TASKS

-    You are involved in patient-related (clinical) HIV/SIV research projects together with an international team of postdocs, PhD students and laboratory technicians.
-    The work is part of a Martin Delaney Collaboratories (MDC) research project (RID-HIV)
-    You will help developing new technologies to better characterize the mechanisms responsible for HIV persistence in ART-treated individuals
-    You are one of the internal and external point of contact for ongoing research projects in the field of HIV reservoirs
-    You bring ideas for improving the development of projects in this specific field of HIV latency and HIV reservoir analysis. 


WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU

-    We offer you a contract of indefinite duration with a maximum term of 3 years.
-    Your contract will start on 1/03/2021 at the earliest.
-    Your remuneration will be determined by salary scale PD1.
