KU Leuven Mecha(tro)nic System Dynamics (LMSD) division offers a creative international environment and a possibility to conduct highly competitive research on a global scale. The responsibilities of the position include successful research in the monitoring of the hydraulic system of vehicles and more specifically of the hydrostatic pumps and motors, operating under variable conditions. The postdoctoral research will work on the development of advanced signal processing and machine learning algorithms for fault detection of pumps and motors, based on pressure and temperature measurements, vibrations and acoustic emissions and oil analysis. In addition, active participation in team research activities and leading a group of highly motivated Ph.D. and Master students is expected as well as contribution to the ideation and writing of project proposals.
