Deadline: The position may have been removed or expired!

The Faculty of Sciences and Bioengineering Sciences, Department Department of Biology, is looking for a postdoctoral researcher with a grant

More concretely your work package, for the validation of your doctoral research, contains:

Postdoc Scholarship position in the evolution and genetics of frog sex chromosomes and sex determination is available in the Ma lab (https://www.wmalab.com ). The Ma lab in the Biology Department at Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Belgium) is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to study the evolution and genomic signatures of frog sex chromosomes. The lab’s long-term goal is to understand how sex chromosomes evolve, sex determination mechanisms, and how and why sex determination is labile in certain lineages but highly stable in many others in eukaryotes. You will work on a project that aims to understand the evolution and genomic signature of (undifferentiated and differentiated) sex chromosomes between female (i.e. ZW/ZZ) and male heterogametic (i.e. XX/XY) systems in various frog species, using comparative and functional genomics, population genetics, molecular evolution, cytogenetics and fieldwork sampling approaches.

For this function, our Brussels Humanities, Sciences & Engineering Campus (Elsene) will serve as your home base.
