Postdoc Research in the area of digitalisation and taxation

Position

For two years, the assignment will consist of scientific research within one or more research objectives of the Centre of Excellence DigiTax (www.ata-digitax.com).  and will thus relate in a broad sense to the impact of digitalization in general and the more digitalized economy more specifically on the current taxation model (including possible new taxes) and/or the use of (new) technology by the tax administration, including the use of artificial intelligence or blockchain technology. The postdoc researcher will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of researchers. The postdoc researcher will also assist in the further development of the research center by writing research proposals and supporting the submission of research proposals for further funding, by giving support to the existing team of researchers and by the dissemination of the research output (publications, organization of (international) conferences, …).

Profile

  • You have a PhD in a discipline relevant for the research objectives of the research center, such as a phd in Law, Economics, Social or Political Science, Psychology or a Technological discipline

The previous condition is an eligibility condition.

  • You are fluent in English (writing skills and oral skills)
  • You have a specific interest in technology and taxation
  • Experience in conducting interdisciplinary research within an interdisciplinary environment, experience with management tasks and experience with research fundraising is recommendable.
  • Your academic qualities comply with the requirements stipulated in the university’s policy .
  • You are quality-oriented, conscientious, creative and cooperative.

What we offer

  • A full time position as postdoc researcher, in a temporary appointment for a term of two years;
  • In case of equal qualifications, priority will be given to candidates of the underrepresented gender within the domain of science. This priority is not automatically and unconditionally, as the evaluation will always take into account the personal situation of every candidate;
  • The date of appointment will be: as soon as possible;
  • Your gross monthly salary is calculated according to the pay scale  for a principal research fellow in the Contract Research Staff category (Dutch: Bijzonder Academisch Personeel, BAP).
  • You will receive ecocheques, Internet-connectivity allowance, a group insurance, an income protection insurance, and a bicycle allowance or a full reimbursement of public transport costs for commuting.
