ICT-medewerker

The IT team of the VIB-UGent Center for Inflammation Research in Zwijnaarde is in search of a motivated colleague.

In close interaction with the other IT team members, the candidate will:        

• install, configure, maintain and monitor the IT infrastructure :
  • hardware: network backbone, printing equipment, physical and virtual servers, end-user workstations & laptops
  • software: backend (Linux) and frontend (Windows - Linux - macOS)
• provide local and remote services to approximately 350 scientific, logistical, and administrative employees.

Essential skills 

• You have a passion for all things ICT
• You have a professional bachelor's degree in computer science or are equivalent through experience in a professional or private context
• You have a very good knowledge of written and spoken English
• You have the required insights in PC hardware architecture for basic maintenance
• You have experience with the technical aspects of Windows (installations, software management, registry, ...)

Desirable attributes

• Experience with Linux is a very important plus
• Experience with macOS is an advantage
• Experience with network environments is an asset
• Acquaintance with Dutch (or the incentive to learn) is beneficial
