Academic environment

The University of Namur welcomes near 7.000 students every year to its 60 bachelor, master, and doctoral study programs. The Faculty of economics, social sciences and management accounts for near 1400 students and 170 staff members, among whom 85 academic and 70 scientific members. The Faculty offers full-time and part-time bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees in management and economics, some of which are co-organized with the University of Louvain (ESL). Its members undertake research in various fields of expertise.

Job description

The candidate will be part of the Department of Economics. The position involves, in equal parts, teaching and research duties, as well as some service activities. Teaching  will be carried out within the Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes. Research will be undertaken in economics within one of the research centers of the Department within the DEFIPP Research Institute

Skills/Qualifications

The applicant holds or will hold by the end of June 2023 (or by the end of September 2023 with in that case a starting date on October 1st , 2023) a Master’s degree in Economics (or equivalent), and is expected to have excelled in his/her curriculum (degree obtained with honours). S/he has a very good command of spoken and written French and English. S/he must display excellent teaching skills. S/he will commit to develop an original research programme likely to lead to a doctoral degree in Economics and Management supervised by a member of the Department.
