Teaching

  • You are responsible for teaching courses for an equivalent of 24 ECTS in the field of Operations Research and Operations Management. These courses are taught in English, both at bachelor's and master's level. The course package includes, indicatively, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Research Methods for Business and the coordination of the bachelor's and / or master's thesis trajectory.
  • You supervise bachelor’s and master’s theses.
  • You are prepared to teach in evening classes.
  • You are willing to implement new forms of education.

Research

  • You conduct research in one or more of the following domains: operations research with applications in sustainability, sustainable logistics and supply chain management, operations management, innovative technologies or sustainable mobility.
  • You are responsible for supervising PhD students.
  • You are responsible for acquiring external (research) funds.

Other

  • You are responsible for service tasks at the level of the department, the faculty and / or the university.
  • You contribute to creating external visibility for the department, the faculty and the university.

3 - Job profile

  • PhD in applied economic sciences, commercial engineer, civil engineer, mathematics, computer science / computer science or equivalent.

  • Good research file with internationally referenced publications in the field of Operations Research and / or Operations Management, preferably with a link to sustainability in general, or sustainable mobility or logistics in particular.
  • Strong pedagogical qualities.
  • Knowledge of English at the C1-level.
  • Knowledge of Dutch is an asset. The candidate must have a command of Dutch at the C1-level at the end of the tenure track.

Every initial appointment is also dependent on the successful teaching of a trial lesson.

Members of the academic staff who, as title-holders , are charged with teaching assignments, must be able to demonstrate the required knowledge of the language of instruction for the relevant course units. Example: When a course unit is taught in English, the candidate is required to have the appropriate certificate.
