Within the research unit Clinical Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapy, the research activities of Prof. Veerle Foulon and Dr. Michael Ceulemans focus on the use and safety of medicines during preconception, pregnancy, and lactation, and on evidence-based and tailored drug information for patients and healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

‘BELpREG’is a recently established interdisciplinary initiative to enhance pregnancy-related data registration and research on medication use during pregnancy (see www.belpreg.be). BELpREG is a unique “citizen science” project in Belgium, consisting of online questionnaires that are completed by women during pregnancy and after childbirth. In this way, BELpREG facilitates the collection of real-world data on medication use during pregnancy and mother-infant health outcomes. The collected data will eventually serve to perform (collaborative) medication use and safety studies in this population.

To be successful, as many pregnant women as possible should be involved in the BELpREG project. You will contribute to the promotion of BELpREG among healthcare professionals, (pregnant) women and other stakeholders with the aim to maximally engage pregnant women to participate in BELpREG.

More information can be found on the BELpREG website or social media accounts on Facebook and Instagram.
