Advisor Research Funding Europe & International

The Vrije Universiteit Brussel is looking for an advisor (m/f/x) to strengthen its Research Funding Europe & International (RFE) team. You advise and guide VUB researchers in submitting and conducting fundamental research, with a focus on Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) calls of Horizon Europe programme and on EUTOPIA University alliance research initiatives.

In this way you contribute on the one hand to the realization of the strategic objectives of the RESEARCH department, and on the other to the development of the research arm of EUTOPIA, with a focus on strengthening our position in the European framework program Horizon Europe, pillar “excellent science”.

A typical selection of your tasks:

• Provide information to potential candidates and supervisors about MSCA calls
• Advise and guide researchers in the submission of MSCA project proposals, the preparation of grants, the start-up, implementation and reporting of projects
• Provide administrative support to grantees of awarded MSCA and other European fundamental research projects
• Organize information sessions and meetings with VUB researchers and with internal and external stakeholders (e.g. the VUB Research Grant Office, faculties, the financial service, the human resources department, European institutions and agencies)
• Contribute to the communication campaigns around MSCA
• Organise online and physical workshops and information sessions in the context of EUTOPIA, contribute to other joint EUTOPIA research initiatives
• Collect, analyse and provide information and recommendations on relevant policy developments
• Contribute to financing strategies for internal and external networks
• Make suggestions to guarantee the quality of our services and to facilitate internal processes.

You are part of the “Research Funding Europe & International” team within the RESEARCH department of the VUB. For this position you will be employed at the Brussels Humanities, Sciences & Engineering Campus in Ixelles. You follow an on-boarding process and work closely with the other RFE team members and its coordinator. You work together with the various partners of the EUTOPIA network of which VUB is a member.
