2-year Post-Doctoral Researcher in Genome Editing

Updated: about 1 year ago
Deadline: 21 Apr 2023

About the labs

The VIB-UGent Center for Plant Systems Biology (PSB) is a world-leading plant science institute located at the heart of a renowned Plant Biotechnology campus in Ghent, Belgium. Its mission is to unravel plant biological processes and translate this knowledge into value for society.

The Plant Genome Editing group focuses on developing and implementing genome editing tools in plants. We use a variety of systems, from standard knockout to base editing, prime editing, and combinatorial CRISPR screens.

Research at the VIB-KU Leuven Center for Microbiology (CfM) aims to increase our basic understanding of microbes and higher organisms, and translate this knowledge into environmental, industrial, and medical applications and new innovative biotech companies.

The Laboratory for Genome Editing and System Genetics develops highly multiplexed CRISPR/Cas-based technologies for precision genome engineering in microbes. We apply these technologies in the model eukaryote Saccharomyces cerevisiae to study complex eukaryotic genetics.

Job description

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated post-doctoral researcher to develop improved genome editing tools for plants using a variety of high-throughput screening approaches (directed evolution) in collaboration with an industrial partner.
