University Project Assistant (must hold a Doctorate/Ph.D. degree) for a 38-hour/week, two-year position at the Institute of Sociology, Department of Sociology with a Focus of Innovation and Digitalization (SID)

Job Duties:

  • Conduct independent and joint research to support the project „Digitalization and Social Cohesion in Rural Communities“ (Dept. head: Univ. Prof. Dr. Ulrich Meyer; funded by the Austrian Science Fund
  • Conduct and analyse interviews with experts and create a living lab in rural regions of Upper Austria
  • Publish research findings in international scientific journals
  • Present research findings at scientific conferences as well as to interest group representatives and government officials.

Your Qualifications:

  • The successful candidate must hold a Doctorate/Ph.D. degree in Sociology or a related field
  • Outstanding expertise in participative and qualitative social research methods
  • A strong understanding of and/or high interest in conducting digitalization research, social participation research, volunteer research in rural areas
  • Research experience (documented in high profile, professional publications)
  • Strong command of German and English (oral and written, preferably level C1)
  • Strong communication, organizational and teamwork skills
