OFFER DESCRIPTION

Your duties

• Completion of a dissertation in theoretical hadron physics, focussing on parton distributions and the structure of hadrons using functional methods
• Participation in research projects in the Theoretical Particle Physics group at the Theoretical Physics Department, with specialization to Quantum Chromodynamics and non-perturbative hadron physics 
• Autonomous research work in the area of the research field
• Teach courses autonomously and participate in teaching activities
• Student support and supervision
• Cooperation on organisational and administrative tasks as well as evaluation measures

Your Profile

• Completed diploma or master’s degree in the field of (theoretical) physics, or an equivalent education abroad
• Outstanding scientific qualification with in-depth knowledge and/or practical experience on non-perturbative approaches to Quantum Chromodynamics and Hadron Physics
• Programming skills (C++, Fortran, Python or similar)
• Practical experience with high-performance computing
• Autonomous work style and communication skills for divulging scientific results
• Existing scientific publications, presentations at international conferences and workshops and/or experience with acquiring research grants are a plus (optional)
• Excellent command of written and spoken English
• Social skills for working in teams

Benefits

The minimum salary as stated in the collective agreement and according to the classification scheme is EUR 3.058,60 gross/month (for full-time employment). This minimum salary may be higher due to previous employment periods eligible for inclusion and other earnings and remunerations.
