Specific Requirements

Your place of work:


The Department of English and American Studies hosts research and teaching in the areas of literary and cultural studies, as well as linguistics, ELT/TESOL and English language. The department employs more than eighty staff and presently around 2500 students are enrolled in its Bachelor, Masters, Diploma, PhD and Teacher Education programmes. You will be working in the area of American Studies in the team of Professor Ganser-Blumenau.


Your future tasks:

Active participation in research, teaching & administration, which means:

  • Developing and strengthening your independent research profile in the field of American Studies.
  • You publish internationally and give lectures.
  • Independent teaching of courses as defined by the collective agreement
  • Supervision of student theses
  • You participate in evaluation measures and in quality assurance.
  • You take on adminstrative tasks in research and teaching

Profile:


•    Completed doctoral/PhD studies in American Studies
•    Outstanding dissertation
•    Research competence and initiative proven through international publications in peer-relevant media
•    Teaching experience
•    IT skills
•    Ability to work in a team

Desirable further qualification: experience of working as a postdoc for already 3 years
