Job profile:

University Assistant - Postdoc (40 hours/week), Institute for Media, Society and Communication from October 1st, 2022. Main tasks: Independent research and collaboration on ongoing research projects; Independent conducting of courses and holding of examinations; Student support including supervision of master theses; Participation in organizational and administrative tasks at the institute; training and evaluation measures. Required qualifications: - Above-average dissertation in communication science or related social science disciplines with a recognizable topic related to political communication or digital communication - Interest in computational social science, political communication, digital communication and interdisciplinary issues - Experience with and verifiable knowledge of quantitative empirical social research and computer-aided research methods (e.g. Stata, R, Python), experience in research with social media data is an advantage - publications in (international) journals and scientific lectures; -Independence and initiative, teamwork and cooperation skills, creative problem-solving skills and critical skills, reliability, efficient time management; -Teaching experience an advantage -Excellent knowledge of spoken and written English -Independence and initiative, teamwork and cooperation skills, creative problem-solving skills and critical skills, reliability, efficient time management; Your application should include the following documents: cover letter, description of achievements in science and research, description of experiences and activities in teaching, concept for research plans for the coming years (max. 2 pages).
