Job profile:

University Assistant - PostDoc (40 hours / week), Institute of Sociology from November 1st, 2021 for 6 years.Main tasks:

  • Independent research and publications , participation in research projects and acquisition of third-party funding in the area of sociology of work and organizations/economic sociology
  • Independent teaching in the sociology programs (BA and MA) with a focus on sociology of work and organizations/economic sociology
  • Student support: holding exams and supervising theses
  • Participation in academic self-administration and in organizational and administrative tasks

Required qualification:

  • Doctorate in sociology or adjacent discipline
  • High quality publications appropriate to the academic age
  • Research experience in the sociology of work, especially on flexible forms of employment (e.g. hybrid, mobile, decentralized work)
  • Proof of in-depth knowledge of qualitative secondary analysis
  • International research experience
  • Ability to relate to research research areas represented at the department
  • Teaching experience in sociology of work and organizations and economic sociology as well as in theories of institutions and organizations
  • Commitment to teaching
  • Experience in acquiring third-party funding is desirable
  • Team, communication and organizational skills
  • Very good knowledge of English and German
