University postdoc (20 hours/week) Institute for Urban Development and Spatial Planning, Landscape Architecture, from October 1st, 2022 for 4 years Main tasks: The candidate should be able to conduct independent research at international level related to the field of landscape architecture with a focus on synthetic landscapes, bio-digital design, application of nature-based solutions as well as artificial intelligence to the design field. The candidate will lead research-based independent teaching and participate in research and administrative tasks of the work area. Required qualification: The candidate should have completed a relevant doctorate / PhD. The research area is the extended field of biophilic design, with a focus on design innovation, as well as the application of nature-based technologies and artificial intelligence to the field of design, with a cross scalar interest spanning from the microscopic scale to the territorial one. The candidate should have experience in taking part, initiating, leading, as well as dissemination international research projects. The research should focus on synthetic landscapes, artificial intelligence and the relevance of biotechnology and complex systems in architecture. An understanding of the Alpine Landscape is required. The candidate should hold an in-depth knowledge of the international architectural discourse, experience with bio-laboratory methods and advanced scientific calculations and experience with experimental investigations; as teaching experience at international institutions is essential, very good knowledge of English, well-founded computer knowledge, didactic and pedagogical skills in dealing with students, creativity and innovative thinking, excellent communication and team skills.
