- Doctoral degree/ PhD in sociology or similar
- Social scientific competencies in one or more of the following research areas: political sociology, sociological theory, societal polarization, civil sphere theory
- Publication in high-ranking international journals
- Strong expertise in the application of qualitative methods of analysis, especially document analysis and interpretive methods
- Experience in designing, acquiring and implementing research projects
- Willingness to acquire third-party funding
- Enthusiasm for excellent teaching
- Excellent command of written and spoken English
- High ability to express yourself both orally and in writing
- IT user skills
- Ability to work in a team Desirable qualifications are
- Teaching experience / experience of working with e-learning
- Knowledge of university processes and structures
- Experience abroad
- Experience in designing, acquiring and implementing international research projects
- Experience in research methods and academic writing
