Moritz Schlick position in the field of “Partial Differential Equations”
The Moritz Schlick early-career programme (MSECP) at the University of Vienna supports early-stage postdocs with high potential for an academic career. Participants in the programme receive outstanding financial support as well as training and mentoring to allow them to develop their full potential.
Moritz Schlick early-career Postdoc Programm (https://forschung.univie.ac.at/moritz-schlick-early-career-postdoc-progr... )
General Description (research group)
Among the group’s main research themes is the justification of various simplifications used in the derivation of nonlinear models for fluid flows (by means of rigorous estimates) and qualitative studies of specific models (existence of solutions that capture specific observed properties, stability issues). Prof. Constantin's specific research focus is analysis in a broad sense, with emphasis on Partial Differential Equations and Dynamical Systems, Fluid Mechanics, Oceanography and Atmospheric Sciences (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adrian_Constantin ) .
We seek an ambitious postdoctoral researcher with acquired expertise in the mathematical analysis of partial differential equations and with interest in applications to fluid mechanics (especially water flows) and/or geophysics (oceanography and/or atmospheric sciences).
This is a 4 year postdoc position with the option to extend it for a further 2 years after a successful internal interim evaluation.
