Offer Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for the development of an internationally visible research and teaching program in the field of “Numerical Modelling” in Earth Sciences with a research core area of numerical modelling of geological, in particular crustal and mantle processes at various scales. Cooperation partnerships within the NAWI Graz Geocenter and the Field of Excellence Climate Change Graz are preferred. We also expect gender mainstreaming skills.

Skills/Qualifications
Employment requirements:
  • Austrian or equivalent foreign higher education degree corresponding with the position (doctorate/PhD) in the field of Earth- and Geosciences
  • Outstanding academic qualifications in research and teaching in the relevant discipline for the requirements and the profile of the professorship (commensurate with stage of academic career)
  • Several years of experience as post-doc or in a similar position
  • Skills in attracting subject-specific project grants
  • Skills in higher education didactics and online teaching
  • Gender mainstreaming skills
  • Outstanding knowledge and research achievements in the field of numerical modelling of Earth system processes
  • Knowledge of and link to field-based andor analytical data collection
  • Knowledge of subject-specific data science applications is desirable
  • Professional experience abroad during academic career (desirable)
  • Good knowledge of German and English (non-German speaking candidates should acquire a conversational level of German within 2 years of appointment)

Additional Information
Benefits

The minimum remuneration as stated in the Collective Bargaining Agreement is EUR 66532.20 gross per year or EUR 78338.40 gross per year with qualificational agreement with conclusion of the Qualification Agreement.
