The following position is available to strengthen our team of the Faculty of Business and Globalisation/ Department for Legal Studies and International Relations/ Center for Intellectual Property, Media- and Innovation Law:

       

Teaching and Research Associate (m/f/d)

Your tasks

  • Collaboration in teaching and research at the Center for Intellectual Property, Media and Innovation Law with a focus on copyright law and related areas
  • Development, implementation and supervision/organization of (international) courses at the Centre
  • Communication and public relations work
  • Independent teaching activities
  • Scientific and organizational collaboration in ongoing third-party funded projects and in the acquisition of third-party funding

Your profile
We require evidence of the following qualifications for the application:

  • Completed university degree (Master's/Diploma) in the field of law
  • Academic interest in the field of intellectual property law, data protection law, competition law and related areas of law (demonstrated by a brief description of personal research interests and envisaged publication projects in the letter of motivation)
  • Ability and willingness to carry out independent scientific work (demonstrated by submission of own academic texts, e.g. seminar papers or Bachelor's or Master's theses including existing academic evaluation)
  • Presentation experience
  • Willingness to carry out project management tasks (e.g. preparing project reports, creating and monitoring schedules and work plans, coordinating and organizing project meetings, etc.)
  • Willingness to supervise courses at weekends
  • Excellent knowledge of English (at least B2) 
  • Very good MS Office skills and first experience with digital collaboration tools (e.g. MS Teams, Moodle, Canvas etc.) 
  • Gender and diversity competence, ability to work in a team, independence and flexibility

In addition, the following criteria are desirable:

  • German language skills (at least B1)
  • Excellent academic success in civil and corporate law subjects and/or proven academic achievements at a foreign tertiary educational institution
  • Technical, economic and/or artistic training
  • Professional experience at a university, other research institutions or in the legal profession

Your perspective

  • Part-time (30 hours/week), initially limited to 4 years (possible extension up to a maximum of 6 years), with a minimum salary of EUR 3,277.30 gross per month on a full-time basis (classification according to collective agreement of universities § 49 VwGr. B1)
