Your duties

• Participation in the working group "Geospatial Technologies" with a focus on geographic Remote Sensing
• Own research activities in remote sensing that complement or supplement the group's portfolio (e.g. AI, Machine Learning, SfM, ALS/TLS)
• Related third-party funding and international publication activities
• Participation in other research activities of the Geospatial Technologies working group
• Maintainance and operation of the groups device and software (e.g. UAV, DGPS, TLS, etc.)
• Teaching in the field of Remote Sensing equivalent to 4 semester hours per week
• Supervision of students (Bachelor theses) as well as support in the supervision of Master's theses and dissertations
• Active participation in teaching and research cooperation within the framework of NAWI GRAZ "Geospatial Technologies" with Graz University of Technology
• Participation in organizational/administrative/evaluation tasks

Your Profile

• PhD in Geography with a focus on Geospatial Technologies or in subject-related areas (Geodesy, Remote Sensing, Geographic Information Systems, Geodata Science, Geosciences, etc.)
• Proven very good international publication and lecturing activities
• Experience in the acquisition and management of relevant research projects
• In-depth knowledge of state-of-the-art working methods in remote sensing (e.g. in the areas of AI, Machine Learning, SfM, DGPS, ALS/TLS)
• Teaching experience in Geospatial Technologies
• Experience abroad at a research institution (desirable)
• Very good knowledge of English and good knowledge of German (desirable)
• Excellent communication, organizational and team skills

Benefits

The minimum salary as stated in the collective agreement and according to the classification scheme is EUR 4.061,50 gross/month (for full-time employment). This minimum salary may be higher due to previous employment periods eligible for inclusion and other earnings and remunerations.

Career objective: Permanent employment as Senior Scientist.
