Senior Scientist

The Department of German Studies at the University of Vienna is the largest research and teaching centre in Austria, covering the fields of German language and literatures. The core areas are Modern German Literature, Medieval German Language and Literature, Germanic Linguistics, German as a Foreign and Second Language, and German Teaching Methodology. More than 3500 students are presently enrolled. The position advertised here, is within the field of German as a Second Language.

The work-group German as a Second Language (Deutsch als Zweitsprache) is led by Univ.-Prof. Dr. İnci Dirim. Here you can expect a small, dedicated team within a friendly work environment and the possibility of bringing forth and working on your own ideas.

The position is vacant for the period of absence of a member of staff (initially till 11.02.2021. A prolongation may be possible).

• Participating in teaching activities, as well as independently teaching university courses as defined by the collective agreement

• Supervision and assessment of exams

• Mentoring of students
