We offer an annual gross salary of at least € 66,532.20 for a fulltime position. An overpayment based on qualification and experience is possible.

Skills/Qualifications

• Degree in translation studies with a doctorate in the field of language and translation didactics
• Very good language and cultural competence in German
• Arabic at native speaker level
• At least 3 years of professional experience and teaching experience in the field of translation-relevant language and cultural mediation of the Arabic language as well as in the field of translation into Arabic, preferably at a university
• Excellent didactic skills and willingness to test innovative teaching formats
• Willingness to undergo further training and integrate digital technologies into language and translation teaching
• Research activity in the field of translation studies, especially in translation didactics
• Proof of research achievements relevant to the position
• Ability to work in a team and ability to motivate

Additional Information
Eligibility criteria

• Research-based and translation-oriented teaching in the field of Arabic language and cultures in the Bachelor's program as well as in the Master's programs to the extent of 6 semester hours per week
• Coordination of teaching and administrative tasks as well as examinations in Arabic
• Supervision of students, including exchange students
• Participation in language, cultural and translation didactics projects and curricular committees
• Independent research and participation in research activities and projects of the institute, in particular collaboration in the working group on language and translation teaching
• Participation in organizational and administrative tasks as well as in evaluation measures
