Scientist (m/f/d) for Experimental Quantum Optics
IMAGINE
- Quantum technologies harness the principles of quantum physics and enable applications that would not be possible with classical physics.
- As an expert in quantum technology at national and international level, our goal is to realize a secure infrastructure for quantum communication and to bring quantum technology from the laboratory to the customer.
- As part of our interdisciplinary team , you will develop new areas of application for quantum technologies.
ENGAGE
- You develop concepts, specifications, and procedures for the technical implementation of our projects in the field of quantum cryptography.
- You design new encryption patterns for safe networks and secured data traffic and ensure the identification of further research topics for the quantum field, to facilitate the expansion of our unit.
- In our state-of-the-art laboratories, you will analyse the suitability of photonic devices to be used in emerging topics such as quantum sensing and quantum computing.
- You acquire and lead projects in the field of quantum communication.
- You publish your results in international journals and present them at international conferences.
- You actively support and supervise our junior scientific employees (Junior Scientists, PhD and Master students as well as interns).

- Thanks to your innovative work and broad knowledge of quantum technologies, you will help us to master the current challenges in quantum optics.
- You have the opportunity to work in a national and international oriented, unique project portfolio.
- Through the continuous exchange with national and European cooperation partners and authorities, you will become a recognized contact person and will thus build up your own network in the course of multi-year research projects.
Your qualification as an Ingenious Partner:
- Completed doctoral studies in physics, technical physics, or a similar technical field
- At least 2 years of experience in experimental optics, quantum optics, or quantum communications after completion of doctoral studies
- In-depth knowledge of quantum information theory and optical communication networks
- Knowledge in acquisition of funded projects and project management
- Analytical thinking and structured work
- High level of commitment and ability to work in a team
- Good language skills (German and/or English) in speaking & writing
What to expect:
The minimum gross annual salary according to the collective agreement is EUR 59.584,--. The actual salary will be determined individually, based on your qualifications and experience. In addition, we offer company benefits, flexible working conditions, individual training, and career opportunities.
