Scientist in the field of additive manufacturing
To support our motivated team in the Laser and Plasma Processing research group , we are filling the following position with immediate effect, based in Niklasdorf
Scientist in the field of additive manufacturing
on a part-time or full-time basis. There is also the possibility of conducting a PhD thesis in cooperation with an Austrian university.
Your responsibilities will include the following
- conducting experimental work on our Powder Bed Fusion systems and material characterisation on additively manufactured samples and components
- design of components, creation of STL files, simulation of printing processes
- collaboration in research projects focussing on applied research in the field of additive manufacturing (AM) (selective laser melting (SLM) and laser powder bed fusion (L-PBF))
- implementation of AM production service and material characterisations for customers
- documentation of project results, reporting
- presentations and scientific publications
- support with public-funding project acquisition
Your qualifications
- relevant university degree (materials science, materials or production engineering, mechanical engineering, physics)
- experience in additive manufacturing as well as CAD, CAM and simulation (e.g. FEM simulation)
- high interest in scientific work and methodological developments
- very good command of English and German
- independent and reliable way of working
- strong analytical skills
What we offer
- according to the valid collective agreement a monthly gross salary of € 3,827,- , on a full-time basis, payable 14 times per year (aliquot) - depending on previous experience and qualifications there is readiness for a higher remuneration

Eligibility criteria
A basic notion and practical experience in Additive Manufacturing of metals is a must.
Selection process
Upon the reception and selection of the candidates, an interview will be performed with each one of them.
The candidates which are successfull at the first interview will be invited for a second interview at the institutes facilities.
The selected candidate will be informed maximum 1 month after the second interview.
