Scientific Staff (prae doc)
at  the Research Group Software Architecture

The focus of the research group (led by Dr. Uwe Zdun) is on research in the areas of software architecture, software design, and software engineering. The group is looking for highly motivated research assistants and PhD candidates. We offer an excellent working environment in a young, creative, highly motivated, and international team. Duration of employment: 2 year/s

Extent of Employment: 30 hours/week
Job grading in accordance with collective bargaining agreement : §48 VwGr. B1 Grundstufe (praedoc) with relevant work experience determining the assignment to a particular salary grade.
Job Description:
Participation in research and administration:
- Participation in research projects/research studies
- Participation in publications/academic articles/presentations
- We expect the successful candidate to sign a doctoral thesis agreement within 12-18 months.
- Involvement in the organisation of meetings, conferences, symposiums
- Involvement in the department administration as well as in teaching and research administration
The position should develop Software Engineering methods and tools in one of the following areas:
- Software Engineering/Software Architecture for Machine Learning
- Machine Learning for Software Engineering
- CI/CD-Architectures and DevOps (especially MLOps)
- Service/Edge/Cloud Architectures
The position is initially limited to two years with the possibility of extension.


Profile:
A successfully completed master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a closely related field is required, whereby knowledge of computer science is assumed to be a given. Excellent English and German language skills (written and spoken) are preferred.

Desirable qualifications are
- Teaching experience / experience in working with e-learning
- Knowledge of university processes and structures
- Experience abroad
- Basic experience in research methods and academic writing
