We offer an annual gross salary of at least € 66,532.20 for a fulltime position. An overpayment based on qualification and experience is possible.

Organisational Unit
The Working Group "Mathematics of Data Science" of the Department of Mathematics and Scientific Computing at the University of Graz will carry out a research project on machine learning approaches for data-driven cardiopulmonary resuscitation. The project will be realized in close collaboration with the University Hospital Graz. Its goal is to develop mathematical models and machine learning strategies that allow for a better understanding of the physiological conditions of patients during cardiopulmonary resuscitation. This will be achieved using both, parameter identification techniques for differential-equation-based physiological models and machine learning approaches.

- Completed doctoral or Ph.D. studies in the field of mathematics
- Sound knowledge of applied mathematics and machine learning
- Experience in interdisciplinary cooperation projects
- Experience with data-driven methods in the context of intensive care or emergency medicine
- Profound knowledge in at least two of the following topics: signal processing, machine learning, modeling, parameter identification
- Very good written and oral German and English language skills
- Very good programming skills, especially in Python

Eligibility criteria
Your Responsibilities:
- Research in the field of applied mathematics and computer science, with a focus on interdisciplinary applications in data-driven cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- Cooperation with physicians of the University Hospital Graz
- Participation in organizational and administrative tasks
- Independent teaching of courses in the field of applied mathematics
- Collaboration in the application for third-party funding projects
