Offer Description

The Medical University of Vienna (MedUni Vienna) with more than 6.000 employees and about 8.000 students is one of the largest academic medical schools in the EU area. At the Department of Otorhinolaryngology of the MedUni Vienna and the University Hospital Vienna a Full Professorship Position for Otorhinolaryngology according to §98 university act 2002 is available, starting October 1st, 2024. We offer permanent employment according to the Austrian Employees act. The successful applicant will be head of the Division of General Otorhinolaryngology.

Skills/Qualifications

Employment requirements:

  • Graduation in medicine with a subject specific doctorate or an equivalent foreign university degree
  • Board Certification as a specialist for otorhinolaryngology or equivalent foreign certification
  • Profound scientific qualification in the field of otorhinolaryngology
  • Profound clinical qualification in in the field of otorhinolaryngology including otology, rhinology andoncological head and neck surge
  • Successful and continuous acquisition of competitive third-party funds
  • Leadership and management experience, including gender and diversity competence, and qualification tomanage a hospital department of the highest level of care
  • Experience in interdisciplinary cooperation in clinic routine and research
  • Educational and didactic qualification (evaluation results regarding teaching activities)
  • International work experience

Specific Requirements

Expected from the applicant:

  • Interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research in terms of promoting the research clusters described in theUniversity`s development plan and participation in the Comprehensive Centers
  • Close cooperation with the Clinical Department of Phoniatrics-Logopedics and the clinics of the Vienna General Hospital
  • Representation of the subject area in the medical curriculum aimed at integrative and practice orientedtraining
  • Competence in employee leadership and motivation including coordination of junior staff development andspecialist training
  • Continuation and optimization of the clinical services and procedures in cooperation with other disciplinesand clinics as well as the management of the University Hospital Vienna
  • Commitment to quality orientation and willingness to continuously enhance personal management skills
