Offer Description

The Medical University of Vienna (MedUni Vienna) with more than 6.000 employees and about 8.000 students is one of the largest academic medical schools in the EU area. At the Department of Biomedical Imaging and Image-guided Therapy of the MedUni Vienna and the University Hospital Vienna a Full Professorship Position for MRI Radiology according to §98 university act 2002 is available, starting October 2024. We offer permanent employment according to the Austrian Employees act. The successful applicant will be clinical head of the High Field MR Center, which is jointly operated with the Center for Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering.

Skills/Qualifications

Employment requirements:

  • Graduation in medicine with a subject specific doctorate or an equivalent foreign university degree
  • Qualification as a specialist for radiology or equivalent domestic and foreign authority
  • Outstanding scientific qualification in the field of in the field of magnetic resonance imaging with a focus on high-field (3 Tesla) and ultra-high-field MRI (7 Tesla)
  • Profound clinical qualification in in the field of magnetic resonance imaging
  • Successful and continuous acquisition of competitive third-party funds
  • Leadership and management experience, including gender and diversity competence
  • Experience in interdisciplinary cooperation in clinic and research
  • Educational and didactic qualification (evaluation results regarding teaching activities)
  • International work experience

 


Specific Requirements

Expected from the applicant:

  • Interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research in terms of promoting the research clusters and platforms described in the University`s development plan such as Medical Imaging and participation in the Comprehensive Centers
  • Representation of the subject area in the medical curriculum aimed at integrative and practice oriented training
  • Competence in employee leadership and motivation
  • Commitment to quality orientation and willingness to continuously enhance personal management skills
