PROFESSOR FOR MEDICAL SYSTEMS BIOLOGY
Based on an appointment procedure in accordance with § 98 of the 2002 Austrian Universities Act, the Faculty of Medicine at the Johannes Kepler University Linz invites applications for a full-time professorship position (under private law) for a
Professor for Medical Systems Biology
to begin immediately. The appointment is in accordance with § 98 of the 2002 Austrian Universities Act. A faculty performance review will be conducted after a 5-year period.
The professorship position includes managing the Institute for Medical Systems Biology. The Institute for Medical Systems Biology is part of the JKU’s Faculty of Medicine, focusing on medically related topics in the field of medical systems biology in terms of basis and application as well as in an effort to draw biologically applicable statements by means of systemic analyses. In addition to its scientific focus and activities, the institute is also expected to provide services to scientists at the Faculty of Medicine.
The successful candidate will be expected to not only engage in teaching and research activities, but also develop an independent, innovative research profile. Collaboration with other JKU faculties as well as together with clinical and base-knowledge science research groups (taking translational aspects into account) would be welcome in order to establish and further advance the development of interdisciplinary networks. The successful candidate will be expected to engage in building a forward thinking Medical Data Science platform at the Faculty of Medicine.
The successful applicant must hold venia docendi/post-doc/habilitation qualifications (or comparable qualifications) in this subject area. Detailed requirements are outlined in a job profile which is available online at: http://www.jku.at/professuren .
An annual gross salary according to the collective agreement of universities will be offered (salary level A1, a minimum salary of currently € 76,127.80 on the basis of full-time employment). In regard to corresponding and additional qualifications, the university is open to salary negotiations.
