Offer Description

The Department of Agrobiotechnology, IFA-Tulln, Institute of Bioanalytics and Agro-Metabolomics is currently seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate (Senior Scientist).

Extent of employment:         40 hours per week

Duration of employment:       as of now, permanent

Workplace: 3430 Tulln a.d. Donau, Konrad-Lorenz-Straße 20

Gross monthly salary and pay grade in terms of collective agreement for university staff (payable 14 times per year): B1 lit. b, € 4.752,30

Responsibilities:

  • Assumption of the overall responisble management of the IFA-Proficiency Testing Scheme
  • Establishment of a research group in the area of infrared spectroscopy for the analysis for agricultural products
  • Supervision and co-supervision of bachelor, master and PhD-theses
  • Knowledge transfer and promotion of junior researchers according to the societal responsibilities of BOKU
  • Performing of administrative tasks according to the university self-management
  • Acquisition of third-party funding

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree / PhD chemistry
  • Language skills: German and English
  • Experience in organizing and conducting profociency tests according to EN ISO/IEC 17043
  • Scientific background in the field of near and mid-infrared spectroscopy
  • Publications in peer-reviewed journals
  • Experience in the successful acquisition, management and leadership of research projects
  • Research focus in the field of analytical chemistry, infrared spectroscopy and food safety

Desired skills and qualifications:

  • Experience in the field of mycotoxin and water analysis
  • Knowledge in statistics and data analysis
  • Experience in supervising and guiding students in writing academic papers
