Offer Description
The Department of Economics and Social Sciences, Institute of Sustainable Economic Development is currenty seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate.
Extent of employment: 20 hours per week ((with the option of a temporary top-up through third-party funding
Duration of employment: as of now, limited for 6 years
Workplace: 1180 Vienna
Gross monthly salary and pay grade in terms of collective agreement for university staff (payable 14 times per year): B1 lit b, € 2.376,20
Responsibilities:
- Independent research and contribution to research projects in the field of agricultural, climate change and environmental sociology
- Acquisition and mananagement of research projects
- Publication of research results in international scientific journals
- Presentation of research results at international scientific conferences
- Independent teaching in the subject areas of the institute in German and English
- Participation in the supervision of theses
- Contribution to the working group on environmental, climate change and agricultural sociology
- Knowledge exchange with non-scientific actors (national and international) through the Third Mission
- Contribution to the self-government of the university, the department, and the institute
Required skills and qualifications:
- Doctorate degree/PhD in Agricultural, Climate change or Environmental Sociology or comparable
- Language skills: Excellent written and spoken German and
English or willingness to learn German in the first two years - Excellent theoretical and methodological knowledge in the
field of agricultural, climate change and environmental
sociology - Experience in applying quantitative and qualitative methods
of empirical social research - Publications in international scientific journals
Desired skills and qualifications:
- Experience in university teaching
- Creativity in the development of innovative ideas in research
and teaching - High commitment to research and teaching
- Experience in acquisition and management of research
projects - Experience in working with interdisciplinary research groups
- International research experience
- Aspire to habilitate at the University of Natural Resources
and Life Sciences, Vienna
