Postdoc Position in Molecular Neuroscience, Prof. Dechant:
We are looking for a highly motivated Postdoc interested in Molecular Neuroscience. The position is fully funded for 3 years and available as soon as possible.
Project: The offered position is an extension of ongoing projects regarding the effect of 3D chromatin organization in forebrain neurons on learning and resilience to stress in mice and humans. To address this issue, we will focus on NGS approaches to analyze the effects of stress on neuronal chromatin in vivo. More information on the project is available on request.
Environment: You will join a multidisciplinary team of scientists. The Institute for Neuroscience at the Medical University of Innsbruck (https://www.i-med.ac.at/ge_nw/ ) provides a high-quality scientific and technological environment including high-performance computing infrastructure. We have access to all necessary research infrastructure including multiomics-, animal behavior- and imaging- facilities. The project will involve international collaborations.
Candidates: We are looking for an organized and independent scientist (m/f/d) holding a PhD in molecular biology or equivalent who is willing to join a novel and challenging research area. Applicants are expected to have a strong background and proven track record in molecular biology. Willingness to work with animals and has a animal experimentation certification. Experience in working with NGS approaches and in FACS sorting will be valuable or need to be aquired. Expertise in sequencing data analysis would be a benefit. English proficiency is mandatory (German is a plus). Strong communication skills, team spirit and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team are expected.
