Postdoc position in Discrete Mathematics

Updated: about 1 year ago
Deadline: 15 Jan 2023

The research group of Matthew Kwan at ISTA has an opening for a postdoctoral researcher in discrete mathematics starting in 2023 (the exact starting date is flexible, and the expected duration is two years, though there is the possibility of extension).
Applicants should have very strong skills in combinatorics and/or discrete probability.

ISTA is a young English-speaking research institute on the outskirts of Vienna. Apart from Kwan's new group, ISTA has several research groups in related areas of geometry, topology, probability, number theory and theoretical computer science.
There are no teaching obligations, but there is the possibility to teach in the ISTA graduate school.
Evaluation of candidates will begin on 15 January 2023, but this is not a hard deadline; this advertisement will remain online until the position is filled.
Prospective applicants are also encouraged to apply concurrently to the IST-BRIDGE program (which is our prestigious postdoctoral fellowship, and comes with the 'Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellow' title). (We have recently had some technical difficulties and the deadline has been delayed, but the deadline will likely be in December). See https://ist.ac.at/en/education/postdocs/ist-bridge/ for details.
