IQOQI is pleased to invite applications for a

 Postdoc Position (f/m/x)

(full-time, 40h per week)

in the IQOQI research group “Ultracold Atoms and Quantum Gases” led by Prof. Rudolf Grimm. The position is offered for a period of two years.

Main tasks:

·         Work on an experiment with ultracold mixtures of fermionic atoms, including regular maintenance, planning and implementing upgrades and extensions, developing new concepts, planning new experiments, performing measurements

·         Analysis of experimental results and writing of scientific publications

·         Tutoring of students on all levels

·         Representing the group on conferences and workshops via poster presentations and talks

·         Supporting the group in administrative tasks

Your profile:

·         Doctoral degree in experimental physics

·         Practical experience with experimental techniques used in cold atom and quantum gas experiments, especially laser and optical setups, vacuum technology, electronics

·         Experimental know-how on cooling and trapping ultracold atoms

·         Experience in data analysis and theoretical modelling of physical systems

·         Knowledge of the theoretical description of quantum systems in general and, in particular, of many-body systems in the context of ultracold quantum gases

·         Excellent verbal and written English skills

·         Ability to work in a team and to present scientific results to the community

We offer an annual gross salary of € 60.926,60, according on the collective agreement of the Austrian Academy of Sciences.
