The Johann Radon Institute for Computational and Applied Mathematics (RICAM ) of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (OeAW ), Austria’s leading non-university research and science institution in Applied Mathematics, is offering a

 

Postdoc Position (f/m/x)

in the Transfer Group

(full-time, 40h per week)

 

The position is initially available for a duration of one year with the possibility of an extension until the end of 2026. Place of employment is Linz. The working languages are English and German.

 

The position is funded by the Christian Doppler Research Association, within the “CD laboratory for mathematical modelling and simulation of next-generation medical ultrasound devices”. This project is an interdisciplinary collaboration with the University of Vienna, the Medical University of Vienna, and General Electrics (GE) HealthCare. The hired person will work on the development and implementation of mathematical models and numerical algorithms for Adaptive Ultrasound Systems in medical applications, in close collaboration with both our mathematical, medical, and industrial partners. Your profile:

·         PhD degree in Applied Mathematics.

·         Strong background in numerical mathematics and modelling.

·         Experience in HPC, Inverse Problems and/or Optimization.

·         English skills required.
