Part-Time Junior Full Stack Developer (m/fd)

The Kubicek laboratory has developed an innovative method to label thousands of proteins present in a human cell (Reicher et al. Genome Res 2020). The extension of method to proteome-wide applications as well as screens for factors perturbing protein localization yield large amounts of annotated fluorescence microscopy data. To facilitate interactive visualization of these data, we started to develop a custom browser-based solution and are seeking a part-time Junior Full-Stack Web Developer to advance this project (limited to a duration of 9 months).

Your profile

  • Previous experience with building medium-scale web applications, own portfolio of web projects

  • Proficiency in TypeScript and/or Python

  • Proficiency in designing Node.js SSR applications

  • Familiarity with AWS infrastructure, Lambda functions, S3

  • Knowledge of database design, PostgreSQL implementations

  • Familiarity with version control via git, GitHub/GitLab CI/CD tooling

The Kubicek Lab

The Kubicek Laboratory works in the field of Chemical Epigenetics, aiming to discover, develop and characterize small molecules that impact cellular identity. Cell type and cell fate decisions are controlled by chromatin pathways that regulate transcription. Using innovative cell and chemical biological approaches, we identify and validate chromatin-modifying enzymes as therapeutic targets in cancer and diabetes, and develop novel chemical probes against these epigenetic factors.
