Offer Description

One vacant position for a full-time Senior Lecturer (m/f/d) at the Chair of Mechanics in the Department Physics, Mechanics and Electrical Engineering at the earliest possible point in a permanent employment contract. Salary Group B1 according to the Uni-KV, monthly minimum salary excl. Szlg.: € 3.578,80 for 40 hours per week (14 x per year), actual classification is according to previous relevant experience.

Requirements: 
Master degree in an engineering or science field. Male candidates are required to have completed military or civilian service. Very good command of the German language

Desirable Qualifications: 
Special interest in mechanical and mathematical questions, pedagogical suitability and corresponding interest in teaching, teamwork, good English communication skills, confidence in dealing with common PC hard- and software, experience with finite element programs, good programming skills.

Tasks and opportunities: 
Contributing to the teaching activities in the subjects Engineering Mechanics, Fluid Mechanics and Finite Element Method; independent teaching of courses; advancing the e-learning strategy of the Chair of Mechanics, assisting in research projects of the Chair of Mechanics especially in the field of mechanics of materials and structures using numerical methods.

Prospects: 
Establishing and organizing own courses, working on a dissertation, publication of scientific papers, cooperating in interesting large-scale research and industry projects.
