Offer Description

One vacant position for a full-time Project Researcher (m/f/d) at the Chair of Processing of Composites and Design of Recycling in the Department Polymer Engineering and Science, start from 01. February 2024 in an employment contract limited to 2 years.
Salary grade B1 according to the Uni-KV, monthly minimum salary excl. Szlg.: € 3.277,30 for 40 hours per week (14 x per year), actual classification is according to previous relevant ex-perience.

Requirements: 
Completed a study program (U/TU) with above-average degree in one of the fields of sustainability, ecology, material science, polymer engineering or mechanical engineering. Aiming a PhD. Fluent English in writing and speaking. For applicants from abroad at least basic knowledge in German language and willingness to improve this knowledge.

Activity profile: 
Your responsibility will be the assessment of sustainability of manufacturing components from fiber reinforced polymer composite (FRPC) materials. A highly self-organized scientific work in the field of recycling and processing of composite materials is expected. Your responsibilities include the planning, evaluation and coordination of according scientific theoretical and experimental work. Additionally, general work load in the research group, e.g. technical infrastructure responsibility, and contribution to educational tasks are part of your responsibility.

Qualifications profile: 
You have interest or already first experience in the field of assessment of sustainability. Education in material science, knowledge in the field of life cycle assessment and/or polymer processing, especially for polymer composites will be helpful. You are familiar with the PC and standard office tools. Interest to prepare a dissertation and to participate in projects with both basic and application-oriented topics is requested as well.

Desired skills: 
High motivation, initiative and teamwork abilities as well as good communication skills with staff and customers together with organizational skills.
