The Center for Academic Writing (CAW) at Central European University, Vienna invites applications for a full-time Lecturer or Senior Lecturer position. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic unit that ensures the high standard of academic writing within the university. 

Your duties and responsibilities: 

In response to the needs of Bachelors, Masters and PhD level students, the Lecturer will deliver program-specific academic writing courses, conduct individual student consultations, contribute to course design, take part in other tasks within CAW, and serve the university community in various capacities. The Lecturer or Senior Lecturer will be expected to be present full-time at the Vienna campus of CEU. For further details about the role of CAW, please visit our homepage at http://caw.ceu.edu/ . 

Your Qualifications: 

  • PhD in hand by the start of employment
  • Preference for a degree in TESOL, Applied Linguistics or related field at Master’s level or above
  • Evidence of excellence and experience in onsite teaching and course design in the field of academic writing at university level
  • Expertise in designing and delivering courses utilizing online platforms and other technologies.
  • C2 mastery of English (as per CEFR criteria)
  • Experience teaching in a multi-cultural environment

What CEU offers: 

For the Lecturer position, we offer a yearly salary starting from a gross of 52,000 EUR. The initial contract is for 3 years definite term, with the possibility of re-appointment to indefinite contract based on review.

For the Senior Lecturer position, we offer a yearly salary starting from a gross of 61,000 EUR. The initial contract is for 3 years definite term, with the possibility of re-appointment to indefinite contract based on review.
