OFFER DESCRIPTION


Your duties

  • Research-based teaching in the field of language, culture and translation (Austrian Sign Language, ASL) to the extent of 6 semester hours per week
  • Participation in related administrative tasks and examinations
  • Participation in the development of teaching materials for the language and translation teaching in ASL
  • Support in the supervision of master's theses in the field of ASL
  • Organisation of internships, maintaining contacts with non-university institutions and public relations activities
  • Support of the departmental coordinator for ASL (deputy)

Your profile
  • Completed university studies, preferably translation studies
  • Relevant, broad professional practice and teaching experience
  • Excellent language and cultural competence in German (mother tongue) and ASL as well as excellent knowledge of the linguistic structure of ASL
  • Ability to reflect scientifically
  • Great sensitivity in dealing with the deaf community
  • Very good digital skills and experience in working with relevant IT and video technology
  • Networking with institutions and organisations for language or interpreting internships
  • Membership of the ÖGSDV desirable
  • Ability to work in a team and cooperate with others

Benefits

The minimum salary as stated in the collective agreement and according to the classification scheme is EUR 1485.80 gross/month (20 hours/week). This minimum salary may be higher due to previous employment periods eligible for inclusion and other earnings and remunerations.
