Junior Scientist (m/w/d) in Innovationsökonomie

IMAGINE

• Our Center is a central node in international knowledge networks and think tank to support European and national research, technology and innovation policy.
• As part of our interdisciplinary team, you will work on national and international research and policy projects in the Research Field Innovation Dynamics & Modelling and will deal intensively with topics of innovation economics, empirical innovation research and innovation indicators.

ENGAGE

• You will complement our team with your competencies in data collection, data cleaning and preparation of larger data sets.
• Particularly, you will maintain and further develop the AIT EUPRO database and perform queries for the empirical analysis of innovation activities of organizations (e.g., companies, universities), regions and countries.
• You will create and evaluate advanced innovation indicators and network analyses.
• You will apply these indicators in scientific research, for example in publications or conference papers, but also in projects for Austrian and European policy advice.

ACHIEVE

• You will develop new solutions for empirical innovation research questions (in particular through the further development of innovation databases and indicators).
• You will contribute to the communication of complex content through intelligent data processing and visualization.
• You will analyze data from innovation databases (patents, publications, R&D projects, etc.) and thus contribute to the further development of empirical innovation research.

Your qualifications as an Ingenious Partner:

• Degree (at least Bachelor University or FH/University of Applied Sciences) in economics or social sciences with focus on quantitative methods
• Strong knowledge of databases (MS Access, SQL) and calculation of indicators
• Accuracy and precision in the preparation of data and indicators
• Strong knowledge in data analytical methods and tools (preferably Stata, R, etc.)
• High commitment, ability to work in a team and communication skills
• Creativity and enthusiasm for unconventional solutions
• You speak fluent English and if you do not speak German at present, we expect you to learn the language within a year to a level that enables you to interact with German-speaking stakeholders

What to expect:

Das Bruttojahresgehalt gemäß Kollektivvertrag 2021 beträgt mindestens EUR 44.478 bei Vollzeit für 38,5 h / Woche. Das aktuelle Gehalt wird entsprechend Ihren Qualifikationen und Erfahrungen individuell festgelegt. The minimum gross annual salary on a full-time basis (38,5 h / week) according to the collective agreement (2021) is EUR 44.478,--. The actual salary will be determined individually, based on your qualifications and experience.
