Full-time, four-year position at the Institute of Computational Perception

Job Duties:
- Conduct independent research in the fields of recommender systems, information retrieval, natural language processing (incl. large language models), fairness and trustworthiness of AI
- Publications and dissemination of research findings (in journals and at conferences)
- Work towards (and complete) a PhD thesis
- Active participation in the institute’s fund-raising activities
- Active participation in scientific and industrial cooperation projects
- Independent teaching according to the collective agreement
- Assistance with teaching and administration tasks of the institute
- Co-supervision of Bachelor and Master’s students
- Contribute to academic administration (e.g., in selection committees for professorship positions, etc.)
Your Qualifications:
- Extensive knowledge and practical experience in at least one of the following fields (preferably several): recommender systems, information retrieval, natural language processing (incl. large language models), fairness and trustworthiness of AI
- Ideally, already some scientific publications (e.g., in conference proceedings or journals)
- Commitment, creativity, ability, and desire to carry out independent scientific work as well as publication and dissemination activities
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) - Level C1
- Fluency in German (Level B1) or willingness to learn German
- Ability and willingness to teach independently and to supervise students in the fields mentioned above
- Strong social skills
